The Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre was started with a goal to help the growing stray population in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We run the shelter with three core values that we hope to spread across the country so that everyone will continue to treat the local animals with respect.
Many of the local animals in Bahrain are victims of abandonment or abuse and often have a distrusting nature towards humans due to their previous experience. Our goal is to show the animals that humans can treat them kindly and with love, so that they can live happily and find a family/pack that will continue to support them.
Bahrain has an uncontrolled stray population which is on the rise as most strays are not neutered due to the associated costs. Life on the streets in Bahrain is harsh due to it's difficult climate, and animals often fall victim to abuse or suffer from injuries.
B.A.R.C is a place where animals are not just rescued, but it's where they have a chance to live. We strive to give these animals a chance at a better life.
The shelter is home to over 150 cats and 300 dogs including some who are in foster care. Our dedicated team of senior volunteers led by the Board of Trustees work toward the care of these rescue animals. We also work with international rescue organisation on rehoming our rescues abroad.
Without the support of local volunteers and donors, we are unable to continue providing support to the growing population of animals in the country.
We have a wide range of dogs and cats currently available for adoption or foster at the shelter. If you're looking to add a new member to your family, select one of the links below to meet our rescue animals.
