For years, Tabs lived at the shelter, always just out of reach. The moment a hand extended toward him, he would scurry away, choosing distance over disappointment. Fear had built walls around his heart, and for so long it seemed they might never come down. But something beautiful has happened over the past year. The fear that once filled his eyes has slowly been replaced by curiosity. These days, Tabs approaches gently, cautiously asking for what he has spent so many years denying himself: affection. He leans into soft pets, then circles back for more. Sometimes, in moments that feel nothing short of miraculous, he gathers all his courage, takes a leap of faith, and curls up in a lap. Each of these small gestures is a triumph. Each one is Tabs choosing trust. A stunning Arabian Mau with striking, unforgettable eyes, Tabs is as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside. He is gentle, sweet, and quietly longing for a place to belong. He is best suited for a quiet home with someone who is patient enough to honor the journey he has made and give him the safety to keep moving forward. After years of keeping the world at arm's length, Tabs is finally opening his heart. Now he just needs someone willing to hold it.
